5 Phases of Our 4-TAÉ Methodology

Phase 1:   4-Sight

The most important element in any business transformation, yet one that is usually the most poorly executed by companies, is the determination of the corporate business strategy.  Without clearly defined business objectives, projects drift aimlessly towards unsatisfactory conclusions. At 4-tel.com, we understand how vitally important it is to establish the strategic framework for all engagements.  We work diligently to ensure that every important decision to be made through the process is vetted against this framework.  Our tenacity in keeping projects focused on the prime directive is a significant factor in the success our clients have had with us.

The 4-Sight Phase is a mandatory prerequisite for the 4-Thought Phase, and establishes the broad vision, scope, objectives and dependencies for business operations across the entire enterprise.

Phase 2:   4-Thought

The 4-Thought phase is a vitally important stage in the process.  During this phase, 4-tel.com works with the client to establish an operational view of the business strategy.  This operational view establishes the general frameworks or architectures for high-level business processes, organization, technology and infrastructure that govern the direction of the 4-Shadow phase.

Phase 3:
4-Shadow

A key differentiator in the superiority of 4-TAÉ methodology is the work done in the 4-Shadow phase. It is during this phase that we help a client evaluate and select technology solutions packages by building a Solution Optimization Lab, complete with working prototypes from leading vendors.  A GAP Analysis is performed, and the required customization to the solution options is identified and documented.

By adhering to our solution modeling approach, clients avoid the costly and time-consuming activities inherent in RFP preparation and evaluation.

Phase 4:
4-Mat

Typically the most time consuming of the 5 Phases, 4-Mat is the culmination of all of the work done up to this point.  The 4-TAÉ team brings together individual components or solutions acquired separately during the 4-Shadow phase.  The team validates that application and infrastructure components interact appropriately and that the prototype lab is properly prepared.

The team then conducts the business operations prototype simulation to ensure that all elements of the business solution work together, including business processes, organization support systems, information technology, and facilities. This Solutions Optimization Lab is truly representative of the target business operation with real users performing actual business processes in a realistic setting.  Participants have the same training, education, and organization support as are planned for general deployment.

Other activities in this phase include conducting a pilot of systems management processes, testing system performance through a realistic simulation of peak volumes, development of staff training materials and programs, and contract negotiations.

The work done includes ordering, installing, integrating, and testing applications and technical infrastructure components for the deployment site.  They also involve activating new reward and recognition support systems, training of deployment site personnel, conducting a communications campaign, and beginning business operations under the new concept.
