We believe that a good systems integrator has a skillset that is transferable across many markets. It is for this reason that we utilize only the very best IT talent available in the consulting market - a blend of telecom professionals and Information Technology experts, some of whom have little to no experience in telecommunications - for the design, coding, and integration of various operational and billing systems. We currently have 40 Systems professionals at our disposal, more than half of who have in excess of 25 years of systems integration experience in the telecom industry.
They have successfully completed integration assignments around the globe for both telecom and non-telecom companies alike. Amtelecom, Deutsche Telekom, NYNEX, MCIWorldcom, Bell South, Cable & Wireless, Bell Canada, Clearnet Communications, AT&T Canada, and Sprint Canada are but a few of the many telecommunications companies these IT professionals have helped. They have also been involved in a variety of complex system integration projects for non-telecom companies, including: Wal-Mart, Ford Credit, Nortel, IBM, Royal Bank of Canada, the U.S. Post Office, Sony, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and NASA.
A sampling of our consultants’ project work in this area includes the integration of a new IBM Integrated Customer Management System (ICMS) with a legacy system at a major IXC that had recently merged with a significant CLEC. This project also required the development of the SAM file (service address master), fault management, telephone number management and the actual network build on ICMS.
On a CDMA project for a major hardware manufacturer’s newest generation of cellular communications technology, one of our consultants led the development of an architecture and tool set for the automation of code migration through different version control systems, and the automation of load building (over 2000 source files) in a large network environment which included multiple sites in the U.S. and Canada.
An example of a non-telco integration project, one who’s complexity was enormous yet whose outcome was arrived at successfully, entails the porting of 6.5 million lines of code from HP, ATT / NCR, IBM AIX Unix systems to Sun Solaris. This project was for Sun Microsystems on location at a major North American Retailer, and it was successfully completed in just 9 months.
These are but three of dozens upon dozens of examples of the success our team members have had in leading system integration projects in both the telecom industry and in other related industries. Their focus, attention to detail, organization and communication skills, and ability to appreciate and understand the key business drivers that are driving the business strategy behind the systems integration projects sets them apart from the rest of the consultants who specialize in this arena.
